Developed a Leadership Retreat at RCMS for school and community members
I was tasked to design a retreat for school faculty and staff, as well as community members and invested individuals. Twice, I created an opportunity to bring these people together with the goal of collaborating on school/community activities. School faculty and staff presented the highlights of our school, teacher lessons, and student lead activities. The community partners in attendance then presented ways they could invest in our school, the teachers, and the students. Collaborative work lead to the creation of multiple school and community joint project based learning opportunities, such as the creation of wetlands at our school, raised bed gardens, volunteer work at a local soup kitchen, and other activities that addressed the food scarcity plaguing our community.
ECET2KY (Elevating and Celebrating Effective Teaching and Teachers) Conference presenter, keynote speaker, design team, and lead
When the lead planner for this conference moved out of state at the last minute, I was asked to work with a team of teachers to design and pull off this entire conference at the last minute.
I was also asked to be a keynote speaker about my leadership journey.
I went on to design and lead two more ECET2KY Conferences.
KTITK Conference for A Cause Developer and Lead Planner - a benefit conference for a Kentucky School Employee and professional learning opportunity for educators, administrators, and instructional assistants.
This conference was created as a way to raise money for public school employees in need.
Other employees from across the state nominated people in need and then all members of KTITK voted on who would be the recipient of the monetary donations for that year.
To date, we have gifted over $10k to Kentucky public school employees.
The Conference provided free professional development with sessions provided by Kentucky educators and leaders.
The Conference ran completed on donated time, space, and funds.
